Dixie and Bonnie
Monday, June 11, 2007

Plaudits to my pal!

If you're a regular reader of my column Act As If , you may remember my two-part interview with Dallas actor-writer-producer Dixie Sedgwick. Now Dixie's film, Bonnie and Clyde - End of the Line, has been accepted to the Dances With Films festival at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood, July 6-12, 2007. Bonnie and Clyde - End of the Line is scheduled to screen with the "Competition Shorts: Group 3" on Sunday, July 8th at 2:45 PM. Check the Dances With Films website for updated show times and tickets.

Dixie's the type who negates the need for electricity in any room she enters. You just want her to succeed. So I'm going to be at Dances With Films on July 8th, and it would be cool to see you there.

Greek
Sunday, June 3, 2007

Greek TV show beer cup logo This week I'll be shooting a comic role on a new ABC Family original series, "Greek." The show premieres in July.

I'm especially looking forward to working with director Michael Lembeck. Besides the fact that he's worked on some classy projects, from News Radio to Friends (for which he won an Emmy), he's also the son of well-known actor and teacher Harvey Lembeck. Harvey founded the Harvey Lembeck Comedy workshop, where Michael teaches (apparently when he has the time).

Tune in again in a few days and I'll let you know how it goes.

Fracture
Monday, April 2, 2007

This month brings the release of New Line Cinema's Fracture, starring Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling, and me.

I have three extremely important lines.

Above is a photo of the courtroom set where I worked. The guy in the witness box isn't me, but that's where I sat. There was a photographer on the set; this isn't a still from the movie. At least I hope not, because you can see the boom microphone at the top of the picture.

The film also features the wonderful Irish actress, Fiona Shaw, with whom I had the good fortune to study briefly in 1999.

Interesting Lives, originally published in 2006, is about my experiences with Fiona and Fracture.
