AT&T Olympics Commercial

Last week I shot a commercial for AT&T that will be shown during the Olympics, August 8-24. Be sure and watch for me! I'll be the one watching the Olympics on TV in my hotel room. Without makeup. You know, when a movie star appears without makeup they call her brave and nominate her for Oscars.

I'd love to take my camera onto the set, but it's a little awkward and besides, I'm supposed to be working. But I did get a few shots at the Universal backlot when I went for my wardrobe fitting.

Backlot from Above

I love the Universal backlot. My first movie job, back in 1989, was one line in "Death Becomes Her." I shot that on the Universal backlot. The lot hasn't lost its mystery and fun for me. I shot this photo from the window of a room in the Edith Head wardrobe building.

On the ground, it looks like this:

The Tour Ends Here

I think the orange cones tell the Universal Tour tram drivers where to turn around. Why do I think that? Because just west, or left, of here, these facades back up against this:

Backlot meets Hills

Backlot, meet parking lot. Not to mention hills.

Just one more, because I like it. This is the back of the building you see in the lower right of the first two photos:
