Wilma Wednesday: Love Stinks
First thing in the morning—before coffee, before my shower, before we even brush our teeth—Wilma and I love to cuddle.
“I love you,” I tell her.
“I love you,” she tells me. “You stink.” It’s a compliment.
“Thank you,” I say. “You stink, too.” She needs a bath.
“Thank you.” She gives me a stinky kiss, and we sit together quietly while I tickle her tummy and pat her chest. She sighs, relaxes, and allows a loud and blissful fart its happy release.
(It’s a fact of dog ownership. You get used to it.)
“Now you really stink,” I say.
“I love you too,” she says.
These guys are soooo 70’s. I know. I was there. They didn’t stink.
