Big Doings This Fall

I might be wresting this blog back from Wilma’s jaws! At least for now.

I’ve got an active schedule this fall, and would love to see you at one (or more!) of these events:

Saturday, October 14th from 1-4 pm, Indie Author Day at the Alhambra Civic Center Library, 101 S. First Street. The library is sunlit and lovely, with lots of free parking. We’ll have books, authors, food, and a live podcast! FREE

Saturday, October 21st from 6-9 pm, Artists’ Salon at the Myrtle Tree Café at 405 S. Myrtle Avenue in Monrovia. (That’s a Facebook Event link.) Music, and writers, and I have no idea what else. An adventure! FREE

Thursday, November 9th from 7-9 pm, a Local Authors’ Panel, conversation and book signing at the Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard. Bonnie Schroeder, G.B. Pool and I will talk about how our varied backgrounds led us to become writers. FREE

Saturday, November 18th from 1-3pm, I’ll be leading a workshop for Sisters in Crime-LA called “How Character Drives Plot.” ($10 SinC members, $25 non-members). We’ll be in the Patio Room at Faith Presbyterian Church, 5000 Colfax in North Hollywood. Sign up here. I intend to pack a lot into this workshop, and it’s a bargain. Refreshments, writing, and fun!

Here’s one for Hollywood: My books will be part of a pop-up bookstore at Harper Salon, 8259 Melrose Avenue in LA, beginning October 15th and continuing through the new year until early January. This book sale benefits School on Wheels, which provides academic tutoring to children living in shelters, foster homes, and other unstable situations. I’m proud to be part of it. They’ll have a variety of books to choose from, so stop in for a browse and get all of your holiday gifts there, to benefit a good cause.

My books will be available for purchase at all of the above events, but there’s no pressure to buy. Just come and say hi!

All of this sounds wonderful and I hope you have a great time and sell a ton of books. I would attend some or all of these events if I lived in that area, believe me! Best wishes!

Thank you, Lowell! If you like author events (and I’ll bet you do, since you’re an author), I wouldn’t be surprised if there are many in your area.

What a wonderful smorgasbord of offerings, Petrea ! And that’s a beautiful initiative by Harper Salon and those authors participating in order to raise funds for School on Wheels. All the best with your lovely busy upcoming schedule – and hugs to you and dear Wilma! x0
