Wilma Wednesday 3: Collaboration

102616collaboration

I don’t want to get ahead of myself, so this isn’t exactly an announcement. But I think it’s okay to mention that Wilma and I have begun working on our book, The Wilma Dialogs.

“It’s exhausting.” Wilma yawns.

“It’s not so hard,” I say. “I like working with you.”

She doesn’t say anything.

“Don’t you like working together, Wilma?”

“…”

“Wilma?”

“Hnnpmh?”

I’ve woken her up.

“Don’t you like working with me?”

She gazes at me through groggy eyes. “I like yelling at people with you. Let’s yell at people. Writing is boring.”

“We’ve never yelled at people together, Wilma.”

“It’s creative. You should try it.”

Wilma’s input is necessary for the book, and I want to keep her happy.

If you pass by our house and hear the two of us shouting curses at you from behind the driveway gate, please don’t take our insults personally. We’re just collaborating.

Delightful. Looking forward to it. I know your collaboration will result in a fine book to add to your already super collection of books, Petrea!

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 08:16

Thanks, Lauren! Wilma’s a wonderful muse.

So, what’s the score? Are u ahead or have u stumped Wilma? 🙂

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 08:16

If you count things I say under my breath, we’re probably about even.

  3. William Kendall - October 26, 2016 @ 08:55

I can see that being fun!

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 09:13

You are invited to join us, William. It’s very freeing!

  4. Irina - October 26, 2016 @ 11:24

Very interesting how this collaboration will turn out. Will you become more sporty and playful? Will Wilma get a taste for the stories? Maybe Wilma remembers her previous lives?

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 11:47

I often wonder what she remembers. She’s told me a few things, and I’ve written them down!

  5. Lowell - October 26, 2016 @ 11:49

I’m going to use that in the future. For example, when stopped for speeding, I’ll just explain to the cop,

“I was not cursing you, I was collaborating with my inner self.”

Hmm. That may not work. You’ll bail me out, right?

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 14:06

Probably better if you have someone else in the car to blame.

  6. chris - October 26, 2016 @ 13:22

keep record of her sighs that should count as well! lol

    • Petrea - October 26, 2016 @ 14:07

You’re right. Her sighs are very expressive. She’s a good communicator.

    Would be fun for sure!!

    • Petrea - October 27, 2016 @ 09:26

Wilma is showing me that it’s not easy to monitor the entire neighborhood from behind a fence. She has a tough job!

  8. TheChieftess - October 27, 2016 @ 13:54

    Let Wilma’s voice be heard!!!

    • Petrea - October 27, 2016 @ 14:46

I would, even if I had a choice in the matter!

  9. Shelley - October 29, 2016 @ 01:36

Heh!! We can never underestimate the power of a sigh. I’ll be pre-ordering your book as soon as you give the nod, Petrea!!

    • Petrea - October 29, 2016 @ 08:56

Yay! Wilma sends her grrregards to Ella.
